ASSET INSIGHT ADDS AIRCRAFT MODELS TO ITS ASSET GRADING PROGRAM Buyers, Sellers and Financiers now can Compare More Aircraft

AMISSVILE, VA (March 27, 2013) Asset Insight, Inc. ( today announced that it has expanded its Asset Grading System Process™(AGSP) program to include more than 65 aircraft. This innovative appraisal tool now enables buyers, sellers, and financial services companies to evaluate accurately the projected maintenance costs for a wider variety of aircraft and thereby make better-informed buying and financing decisions. The AGSP now covers an extensive range of heavy, medium, and light jets, as well as many turboprops and helicopters. “Our goal is to create the first industry standard that enables users not only to analyze and grade objectively the maintenance condition of any aircraft, but also allows them to compare that condition to any other make and model aircraft,”said Tony Kioussis, President of Asset Insight, Inc. “This expansion enables more entities to utilize our Asset Grading System Process (AGSP) for aircraft that they currently or plan to operate.” Until now, there has been no clearly objective method for evaluating and comparing the value of the technical condition of two or more aircraft, whether identical or of different makes and models. Asset Insight’s new Asset Grading System Process (Patent Pending) provides parties holding, or planning to hold, a financial interest in an aircraft, with a simple-to-understand, uniform index for evaluating and comparing the technical condition of two or more aircraft as it relates to projected maintenance costs. This enables them not only to select the aircraft best suited for their mission requirements, but also to optimize the aircraft’s financial performance as a capital asset. The AGSP is based on patented algorithms analyzing current age, the hours and cycles on an aircraft’s Major Sectors and Systems –airframe, engine(s), propeller(s), APU, paint, and interior –as well as the cost to repair or replace parts with no defined life. Once the aircraft data is entered into the program, the AGSP enables buyers, sellers and financiers to:

  • Objectively analyze and grade an aircraft’s maintenance condition relative to the manufacturer’s approved maintenance program.
  • Compare any aircraft’s maintenance condition to another aircraft listed for sale to justify the asking or offering price for a listed aircraft.

Additionally, the AGSP provides current owners an objective basis upon which to decide whether to improve an aircraft’s technical value by investing in maintenance improvements.

The AGSP does this by generating an Asset Insight Index™for the aircraft, enabling entities to compare any aircraft objectively against any other aircraft. Prospective owners and financiers can then determine which aircraft poses the greatest financial exposure going forward –that is, the accrued financial liability for future scheduled maintenance events –for the owner and/or financial services company. The Index is comprised of the following three elements:

  • An Asset Technical Condition Score (ATC Score) that measures the aircraft’s maintenance status relative to its Optimal Maintenance Condition as defined by the manufacturer’s schedule.
  • An Asset Financial Condition Score (ATFC Score) that measures the aircraft’s maintenance financial rating relative to that Optimal Maintenance Condition.
  • An Asset Technical Financial Exposure Value (ATFE Value) that measures the owner or lessee’s financial exposure based on the aircraft’s current Maintenance Condition (the aircraft’s current accrued maintenance liability).

“We will be adding more aircraft for AGSP analysis within the next few months”according to Kioussis, “including piston aircraft. Look for additional analytical services from Asset Insight that will provide anyone with a financial interest in an aircraft the ability to optimize the value of that asset the same way they would manage any other high-value financial instrument.”
